Advice

[edit]

You are listed as a tutor for the PoN course, so I find it somewhat depressing that you were using this page for an article draft. I have moved it to User:Ambango/sandbox.

Several of the students' submissions have had to be deleted because they were considered blatant advertising. It would be sad if this were to continue. Will you please discuss with your students their proposed topics and make sure they select subjects which cannot be considered promotional. See also this advice. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:35, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

At least one of your students User:Kwenani.201035383 has had a number of their submitted pages deleted because the text was copied from a copyrighted source. Please can you ensure that your students are aware of Wikipedia's policy on copyright violations - reusing copyrighted text has real-world legal ramifications, and is not permitted on Wikipedia. Repeated violations will result in the students' accounts being blocked. Please feel free to contact me on my talkpage if you need further clarification. The same user has just reposted the exact same copyrighted text from The Namibian to several pages. I have deleted the pages in question and issued a final warning. Please can you deal with this. Yunshui  11:43, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It appears this user has also operated multiple accounts to continue inserting this material (see User:Sylvia Kwenani 201035383). This is a violation of Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts, and is grounds for an immediate block. I have therefore blocked the new account indefinitely and issued a 24hr block to the Kwenani.201035383 account. Please can you make sure that your students are aware of Wikipedia's policies before they start editing. Yunshui  07:01, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
